Seattle in spring has its ups and downs, rainy days that suddenly break open into sunshine and rainbows. I love it all.
I’ve also been thinking a lot about how to build a daily art practice that feels doable and joyful, rather than overwhelming. One way I’ve been exploring this, is by going small with ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions & Originals). These tiny originals (2.5 x 3.5 inches) allow me to create consistently while offering collectors a more accessible way to own original artwork. I love the idea of art being something people can truly welcome into their lives. I’m even considering offering some of these pieces already framed, so they’re ready to display the moment they arrive home. And for those of you who are here for the polar bears—yes, I’ve been busy. This month, I started following a few oil pastel artists on Instagram and felt inspired to experiment alongside them. That’s how these soft, cuddly polar bears came to life. There’s something comforting about their round shapes and gentle presence that I can’t seem to get enough of. <3
